I can help you lead

What I offer

In today's dynamic and ever-changing business landscape, investing in the development and well-being of your team is crucial for sustained growth. I have a track record of building, coaching and mentoring high performing senior teams and I am confident in my ability to guide your team to unlock their full potential.

My coaching approach is evidenced based and aims to:

Empower through insight. I support clients to build their self awareness and identify their personal values, passions, aspirations and strengths.  This enables better decision making.

Focus on goal oriented strategies: I work collaboratively with my clients to set meaningful and transformative goals, both personal and organisational and design programs of work to support progress.

Lend accountability and support: My clients often reflect on the value of coaching as a neutral and protected space where they are supported yet held accountable for their commitment to grow and develop.

Build resilience: I help clients to face uncertainty and build their resilience enabling more innovative problem solving.

Perhaps most importantly, I celebrate success and reinforce positive change.

Coaching is ultimately a tool for individual growth and I aim to empower my clients to develop self-knowledge, tools and strategies for sustained change in an organisational context.  Coaching has repeatedly been shown to measurably enhance leadership skills, improve team collaboration and increase employee engagement and retention. It is entirely flexible and bespoke to the client’s individual challenges, situation and needs. It is a powerful tool for business growth and development and an empowered and engaged team is a productive one!

Let's work together

The foundation of my services is 1:1 coaching. I will tailor a package for your needs, from individual sessions to a longer program of work.   No-obligation, introductory sessions to discuss what you are looking for are always complimentary. If you are new to coaching as a tool, I’m very happy to explain my approach and what is involved.

Coaching can be direct arrangement with you.  It can also be useful to involve your organisation, to support feedback mechanisms and align with organisational goals.  I will work with either scenario to design an effective program to help you meet your goals.

I can offer coaching in person (East Midlands or elsewhere by agreement) or online.  If possible and practicable, I aim to meet clients in person at the start of the coaching program.

About me

With a doctorate in biochemistry and having held multiple senior leadership and executive roles in the bioscience and education sectors, I bring valuable, contextual understanding of innovation and broad business operations to support my interaction with clients.   You can read about my background and executive experience here.    My most recent experience includes executive leadership of growth-driving innovation projects in plant biotechnology, veterinary pharmaceuticals, feed products and serving the global agriculture sector with responsible products and services for the future. I have expert knowledge and 20 years experience of the bioscience and agri-food sectors.  I have a track record of building organisational capability by embedding innovation culture and systems to enable technical portfolio growth.  I believe in people centric leadership, with acute and empathetic understanding of contributors in a team.  I am often told I am an inspirational yet warm communicator, able to lead and stimulate others with simple yet compelling stories.

I am proud to hold an Honorary Professorship at the University of Nottingham and my current focus is working with students and staff on leadership skills.  I am a nutritional biochemist by training with a undergraduate and post graduate degrees and postdoctoral research from the University of Nottingham.  I have a strong peer-reviewed publication history and have edited three books on animal nutrition.  I know what it takes to lead whilst being true to personal values (in my case, the importance of good science!).  As a result, evidence-based coaching practise is important to me.

I am qualified in executive coaching through the Institute of Leadership and Management.  I am a member of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC).  High quality, ethical practise is extremely important to me and I abide by the EMCC code of ethics, which you can read more about here.
